Bus PlacementFor the performHR team, today marks the completion of another successful BUSN3002 Industry Placement through our relationship with The University of Newcastle.

Over the last 12 weeks, Nicholas Lappan and Monique Lowe have been changing the way HR is done, gaining valuable industry experience and diving head first into the world of outsourced HR.

performHR Business Partner, Ellie Langford, has been closely involved in the program since its inception, and is an advocate of the benefit it offers both the organisations, and individuals involved.

"The BUS3002 Industry Placement is great as it gives interns the opportunity to 'challenge the textbook' and gain real life experience in our performHR playground, that will set them up for success after graduating uni" Ellie says.

The UoN interns have also provided the opportunity for our own team to grow their own skills, building on  leadership, delegation, training and consulting capabilities. For the organisation, our relationship with the University of Newcastle also allows us to build on our "BENCH" pipeline, connecting our team with the next generation of budding HR professionals.

During their time with our team, Nick and Monique were exposed to a wide range of tasks across the functional areas of HR, including:

  • Recruitment processes - reference checks and phone screens
  • Policy development
  • Developing training presentations and modules
  • Onsite client meetings and pitch opportunities
  • Financial training
  • Staff survey creation

"The opportunities I have been given while working at performHR has been invaluable from learning how recruitment processes work to reading over employee contracts, everyone has been so accommodating and nice and I am forever grateful." - Nicholas

Student Placement

During my internship at performHR I’ve had a hands-on experience and have been exposed to so many different aspects of HR in the ‘real world’. It has helped me realise the various aspects of HR and has given me an insight into a potential career path, and I will always be appreciative of my time at pHR. - Monique

We would like to congratulate Nick and Monique on completing their internship with our team, and thank them for making their mark in the world of performHR. We wish you all the best for the remainder of your time at UoN and we are confident you will continue to grow into phenomenal Business Graduates.
